Robin van Persie will be returning to Old Trafford
Former Manchester United player Robin van Persie is going to be making a return to Old Trafford as Fenerbahce has to face off with the Premier League club on October 20 of the ongoing year for a Europa League match.
When this Europa League fixture draw was made a few days ago, Robin van Persie took to instagram as the Dutch attacker wrote: “Excited about the group we are in for the #EuropaLeague. Looking forward to play and meet the fans again of my former clubs @feyenoord.rotterdam and @manchesterunited”
Robin van Persie performed for Manchester United for 3 seasons where he managed to make over 80 appearances and scored 48 goals. His final season at Old Trafford was not a very memorable one as the Dutch forward sustained an ankle injury which kept him out of action for some time and he was later on stripped away from taking penalty kicks after Louis van Gaal decided to put this duty to someone else.
The 33 year old striker also voiced his excitement on his twitter account as Robin van Persie appears to be enthusiastic to see 2 of his former clubs locking horns against each other and facing off as Feyenoord and Manchester United are scheduled to battle each other on September 15.

In the group stages of the 2016-17 season of the Europa League, Robin van Persie’s current team Fenerbahce was pitted along with 2 of his former clubs including: Manchester United and Feyenoord. The experienced striker is excited to be reuniting with some of his former teammamtes but this time around they will be his rivals.
